A toque is basically just (to quote Wikipedia) "a type of hat with a narrow brim or no brim at all." Wikipedia gives lots of examples and illustrations of toques, and people wearing them.
One of Wikipedia's examples is the classic chef's hat, which is referred to as a toque blanche.
